Intelligent emergency lighting for national sportswear warehouse

The Challenge

The client had an existing emergency lighting with old LEDs, central battery, and minimal control/reporting. They wanted a lighting system with full addressability, remote monitoring and emergency lighting, and minimal on site disruption.

The Solution

The Photonic solution provided for a fully integral remote monitoring lighting system, using the latest Samsung LEDs, integral dimmable emergency’s and sensors with nodes, connected to a wireless mesh system, with remote access via a number of internet gateways.

Project Solution

There is an existing single-phase busbar on site, which can be used to power the luminaires, sensors, nodes and integral emergency. There are no additional wiring requirements, with minimal on site or business disruption.

Series 115 - Linear Batten with PIR Sensor & Node

A 5Ft IP20 linear batten which can be surface mounted or suspended, provided with PIR sensor and LiteIP node to enable independent remote control and data collection.

The luminaire is provided with a Helvar Dali 2 dimmable driver as standard (but could also be supplied with Philips/Signify or Tridonic) and Samsung LM281B+ LED with 130 Luminaire lumens per circuit watt.

This can be wirelessly adjusted to underrun the luminaire and improve further the luminaire efficiency and subsequent energy savings.

Data Collection and Control

The Collator forms the gateway between the wireless luminaires and the internet. It can be configured for one-way communication to monitor and review or two-way communication for remote configuration & control.

Up to 1000 Luminaires can be controlled by one Collator, although we have allowed for 25 collators, to control 2500 luminaires, to ensure continuity of communication throughout the building structure.

The LiteIP Wireless Solution currently has over 3300 operational sites, with more than 50,000 unit’s in the field.

On-Site Commissioning

Commissioning is carried out on site, based on the clients plans of the building. It is carried out by the Lite IP engineers (under our instruction), using the IP Mate (a hand held network access device) and a tablet.

Each luminaire is given a unique identification on site, which links to the plan, and in turn the cloud.
